Let’s raise some money for a GREAT cause and make it an evening to remember!
- There are more suicides in Vermont each year than motor vehicle fatalities or homicides.
- On average one person dies by suicide every 4 days in the state.
Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death in VT between the ages of 15-34
Recent data shows there were 441 hospitalizations for attempted suicide in Vermont, and 1,007 Emergency Room visits for suicide attempts in a single year*Statistics provided by American Foundation for Suicide Prevention & Vermont Suicide Prevention Center
September is National Suicide Prevention Month, which also happens to be Geri’s birthday month. Geri has been personally affected by suicide, not once, but three times. Through her experiences Geri has heard the stories of countless other friends and community members who have been impacted by this public health crisis. Geri’s birthday wish is that we stand together as a community to help those struggling with mental illness and those who have been personally affected by suicide.
Let’s come together to raise awareness for Suicide Prevention.
Let’s send Geri over the hill in style and have a night to remember by showing our love and support, not to mention our serious dance moves! Each ticket also gets you a chance to win some seriously cool stuff.
All proceeds will be donated to the Vermont Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
