Dragonheart Vermont, a breast cancer survivor and supporter team is putting on it's 5th annual Dragon Boat festival at
Burlington's Waterfront Park on August 8, 2010. This festival is the team’s special way of introducing people to the sport of Dragon Boating and help others in our community diagnosed with cancer.
Thousands of dedicated Vermonters joining together for an unforgettable day of fitness, fun and fund raising. The community teams are made up of local businesses, non-profits, service groups, neighbors, and families who know that together we can make a real difference in the lives of children and adults with cancer.
This year, Dragonheart Vermont's goal is to raise $300,000 for our own team and Vermont’s Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, Vermont’s only camp program for kids with cancer. Join us for lots of fun and the best cause of all −spreading support and joy to our local kids as they fight the toughest battle imaginable.

This Yard Sale fills an entire pavilion at the Champlain Valley Exposition - and it benefits Vermont's kids. 150 tables of quality items no longer needed by donors - bargains on household items, children's clothing, books, vintage and collectibles, tools, furniture and much more. Proceeds help support KidSafe's work with its community partners to prevent and address child abuse and neglect.

Directions:
From the South: Follow I89 north to exit 15. Take a slight right off the exit ramp onto Rte 15 heading towards Essex Junction. Continue for about 3 miles and follow signs for Champlain Valley Exposition/Fairgrounds; it will be on your left. Turn left into Gate B. Signs will direct you further.
From the North:
Take I-89 South to Exit 16. At Exit 16 turn right heading downhill, towards Winooski. Proceed to the major traffic circle in downtown Winooski. Proceed downhill and back up around, follow signs for Rt 15 East. Go about 3.8 miles on Rte 15. Champlain Valley Exposition will be on the left. Turn into Gate B; signs will direct you further.

Volunteers
We need Community Yard Sale volunteers! It's fun - especially if you volunteer with a friend or group. Strong backs helpful but definitely not required! There are many different ways you can help.
Volunteers are needed for 3 hour shifts, for set-up, sale and clean-up days from August 11 - 16.
We need volunteers to help select, sort and set-up before the event (August 11, 12, 13) when donations are dropped off, and at the sale itself (August 14, 15), plus clean-up day (August 16) There's merchandising, selling, and helping customers - it is hectic at times, also fun and very gratifying. Orientation is provided. Shift times vary by day but fall between 8 am and 8 pm; please contact us for details. Just call Lisa or Anne at 863-9626. Please consider whether you might be able to contribute more than one 3-hour shift - we need LOTS of help for this huge event!
