Congratulations to today’s winner, Jessica Facteau, one of our Outstanding Women of 2026!
“She pours her heart into her job and has been such an asset to the college campus and community, by assisting other law enforcement agencies, as well as bringing a more community policing environment to the campus.” – Melissa Brown
Jessica Facteau is the investigator for SUNY Plattsburgh University Police, and she works hard to make sure her community is heard and safe. Jessica initiated a student ambassador and intern program for students interested in careers in law enforcement. When she noticed students in need of help were not getting it because the police station felt too daunting, she created a safe space on campus to ensure they could feel comfortable receiving support. When she’s not at work, Jessica serves as a board member for the New York chapter of the National Alliance in Mental Illness of Champlain Valley, located in Plattsburgh. Jessica pours her heart into her job, and she has been such an asset to the college campus and community!
