Dolly Parton’s life, music and humanitarian legacy will be celebrated in a two-hour live television special this fall. In an announcement made Wednesday, organizers confirmed that CMA Presents I Will Always Love You: A Celebration of Dolly Parton will air October 21 on ABC and Disney+, with streaming available on Hulu the following day.
The special, announced following Parton’s death on August 25 at age 80, will be filmed live at the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Belmont University in Nashville. Organizers say the program will combine musical performances, archival footage, and personal stories covering her career as a singer, songwriter, entertainer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist.
Robert Deaton will serve as executive producer. Details about participating performers and ticket availability are expected to be announced later.
The event will also support Parton’s charitable legacy. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, the book-gifting program she founded to provide free books to children.
