Darius Rucker was arrested over a minor drug offense in Williamson County, Tennessee, last Thursday.

His attorney, Mark Puryear, told media outlets that the Grammy-winning country star is “fully cooperating with authorities related to misdemeanor charges.”

TMZ, which first reported the news, says the 57 year-old musician faces two misdemeanor drug charges for simple possession and casual exchange of a controlled substance and one count of a violation of Tennessee’s vehicle registration law.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, the latter charge is related to expired tags on his car.

It is not clear what kind of controlled substance was confiscated from Rucker.

The former lead singer of Hootie & the Blowfish was reportedly released on a $10,500 bond.

Rucker released his latest album,’Carolyn’s Boy, in October, and was recently honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
